”Once upon a midnight dreary…”

Edgar Allan Poen runo Korppi (The Raven) oli oman aikansa kauhutarina.

----------

Edgar Allan Poe’s poem The Raven was a true horror story in its time. It was first published in 1845 and this spring, almost 200 years later, it will be reborn.

Korppi tells us a story about loss, echoes of the past and the struggle of letting go through physical theatre. Korppi is like a poem in itself.

”Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;
But the silence was unbroken, and the darkness gave no token,
And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, `Lenore!'
This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, `Lenore!'
Merely this and nothing more.”
